Handbook of Mathematical Relations in Particulate Materials Processing (Wiley Series on Processing of Engineering Materials) Randall M. German
Handbook of Mathematical Relations in Particulate Materials Processing goes beyond the traditional barriers of only one material class by covering the major areas in ceramics, cemented carbides, powder metallurgy, and particulate materials. Suited for quick reference with stand alone definitions. It is the perfect complement to existing textbooks since it will simply cut to the key relations. Material constants will be included to help illustrate typical parameters. Currently there is no handbook of mathematical relations with a focus on particulate materials processing....

How Caregiving Affects Development: Psychological Implications for Child, Adolescent, and Adult Caregivers
As recent advances in medicine contribute to people living longer and living with chronic illness in the home, the role of the family caregiver has become more common. Furthermore, due to varying family structures and living situations it is not always the parent or adult child who takes on the caregiver role. The traditional role of the adult caregiver increasingly falls on the shoulders of children, adolescents, and emerging adults. Also, in cases where parents are unable to take care of their children, grandparents take on the role of adult caregiver for their grandchildren. A caregiving role at any point in life may affect a person's development and add stressors, but also may create rewards that influence the caregiver's identity and well-being. How Caregiving Affects Development: Psychological Implications for Child, Adolescent, and Adult Caregivers examines these effects using a lifespan development framework. Each chapter presents theory and empirical research on caregiving......

On the Normality of Numbers Adrian Belshaw
A number is normal in a base if, in its expansion tothat base, all possible digit strings of any givenlength are equally frequent. While it is generallybelieved that many familiar irrational constants arenormal, normality has only been proven for numbersexpressly invented for the purpose of proving theirnormality. In this study we review some of the main results to date.We then define a new normality criterion, strongnormality, to exclude certain normal but clearlynon-random artificial numbers. We show that stronglynormal numbers are normal but that Champernowne'snumber, the best-known example of a normal number, fails to be strongly normal. We also re-frame the question of normality as aquestion about the frequency of residue classes of anincreasing sequence of integers modulo some fixedinteger. This leads to the beginning of a detailedexamination of the digits of irrational square roots....
